West Brom midfielder Ronnie Wallwork has revealed he would play for Barnsley again "in a heartbeat".Wallwork went out on loan to Oakwell in November only to have his spell cut short after a stabbing incident left the 29-year-old fighting for his life in hospital. Now recovering at home, Wallwork admitted he had been pleasantly surprised by the response of the Tykes fans.
He told the club's official website: "I would play for Barnsley again in a heartbeat. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and we did really well. "The supporters and their messages have been overwhelming, especially when you think I only played two matches for the club. Barnsley is a special place and I would like to thank everybody. At the moment I'm just concentrating on recovering. I have another hospital visit in a month and we will take it from there."
Wallwork made two starts for Barnsley in late November, playing the full 90 minutes in a 1-0 home win over Ipswich and a 2-0 victory against visiting Southend.
