Promising forward Tyler Roberts has joined former Albion midfielder and coach Michael Appleton at Oxford on loan until January.

Roberts made his Premier League debut on the final game of the season against Liverpool after stepping off the bench against the Reds.

He has also figured for Albion during pre-season but will now head south to Oxford and link up with Appleton to gain some much needed league experience.

"Tyler's an exciting player who has pace, plenty of skill and an eye for goal," said Albion old-boy Appleton.

"A lot of people within football believe he has the talent to play at the highest level.

"This will be a fantastic chance for him to start showing what he can do on a regular basis."

The 17-year-old signed his first professional deal in January after progressing through the club's academy.

Meanwhile, another academy graduate will continue his football education at Worcester City. Goalkeeper Ethan Ross has signed a six-month deal to join the National League North outfit.

The 19-year-old spent six months on loan last season at Worcester and impressed between the sticks.

Both deals have no recall option.
